Myths and Dreams. 1

The basic consanguinity of the human genus is not only evident in our bodies and genes, but also in our myths, dreams and cultural artefacts. How often does man remember on a daily basis that everything living is sacred? Do we even know, there is a holy place for us to find everywhere? A place where you are you, and who you want to be. In nature's revelation we are able to find that special moment, and fueling bliss or in prayer, meditation and love. I believe we tend to give ourselves too little room for silence, and exploration of our inner being. Are we maybe afraid of what to find? Sometimes it can be difficult to judge the perspective when we not are used to look at the inside.
I remember a story I've heard of a pygmy who once came out from his home in the jungle. The native saw a mountain in front of him, it was a new experience and he climbed up to the top. When he looked at the view, he saw a plain that spread out before his eyes, and he became very afraid. Why? The pygmy had never before seen that kind of nature or a world in that perspective. The man felt lost, he couldn't recognize who he was anymore. This story make me think, maybe it will be the same, when we look at ourselves from another perspective.

Another story tells about a boy, who found a bird in the jungle, that sang indescribably beautiful. The boy ran as fast as he could to his father, in order to share the bird's song with him. Sadly, the boy's father couldn't stand the song and brutally kills the bird. By the death of the bird, the father killed the song, and by that deed, also himself. The myth is the song. It means, that death isn't the death. In order for a new life, there must be death. For a new myth, there must be a story to tell.
The human psyche ist the same everywhere, all over the world, in all times. The agriculture carried the story about death, burial and resurrection. Dead trees give new trees, seeds give new plants to harvest, and this etrnal cycle continues. The same stories, emerge in widely different areas of the earth, and the myth is staged with different elements. Therefore, the essence of life will be manifested in events in order to be remembered.

C.G. Jung, the renowned psychologist, used the therm, 'the two-million-year-old-Self', by that he ment that the dream is included in everything we do, say or think. This remnant of our origin is revealed in our dreams at night, which the neurologists have shown is a link to the most ancient structures in our brain. Every night we enter a mysterious kingdom, an ancient labyrinth, populated by the gods and spirits of our ancestors, and from them we derive some of the oldest wisdom. Let's see what we will dream about tonight!
